01 — About Healora

Look beyond
what’s visible.

We are often quick to notice what a person does.

  • The reaction.
  • The silence.
  • The overthinking.
  • The distance.
  • The pattern that keeps returning.

But what we see is rarely the whole story.

There may be an experience behind the reaction, a meaning behind the thought, or a need beneath the pattern.

Healora begins there.

With the part that is less visible — the part that deserves to be understood before it is judged, changed or defined.

Because sometimes, the things we struggle with are not asking to be fixed first.
They are asking to be understood.

02 — The idea behind Healora

Understanding comes before change.

Healora was created from a simple belief: people are more complex than the moments we see.

The way we think, feel, relate and respond is shaped over time — by our experiences, relationships, circumstances and the ways we have learned to navigate them.

Counselling creates a space to look at those layers with greater clarity.

Not to reduce a person to a problem. Not to offer an answer before understanding the question. But to explore what is happening, what may be shaping it, and what becomes possible when it is understood differently.

Jiwanjyot Kour Puri

Psychologist & Founder, Healora

My interest in psychology has always come back to one question:

What lies beneath what we see?

That question has stayed with me throughout my work with people across different stages of life and circumstances.

My professional experience spans clinical mental-health settings, de-addiction services, child and adolescent care, school counselling, government psychosocial services, private practice and psychological support settings.

These experiences have offered different perspectives on people and the experiences that shape them — and have reinforced something I continue to value in my work:

Listen before assuming. Understand before responding.

Today, my work is grounded in a person-centred and individualised approach, informed by established psychological approaches including CBT, REBT, IPT and ABA.

I do not believe there is one way to understand a person, or one approach that belongs in every room.
The person comes first.

04 — What this space is for

You may arrive here with something you can clearly name.
Or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right.

Perhaps your thoughts have become difficult to quiet.

Perhaps a relationship has changed.

Perhaps you are navigating a transition you didn’t expect.

Perhaps you keep finding yourself in patterns you understand intellectually, but still struggle to change.

Or perhaps you are simply ready to understand yourself more honestly.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you begin.
You can begin with where you are.

05 — How we see the work

Therapy is not about becoming a different person.

It is about developing a clearer understanding of the person you already are.

Sometimes that means making sense of the past. Sometimes it means understanding what is happening now. Sometimes it means noticing a pattern for the first time.

And sometimes, it means discovering that the question you have been asking yourself was never quite the right one.

See. Reflect. Understand.

That is the thinking behind Healora.

06 — A note from Jiwanjyot

You do not have to arrive with everything figured out.

You do not need to explain yourself perfectly.

Sometimes, beginning simply means having a space where you can speak honestly, slow things down and start making sense of what has been difficult to carry alone.

The conversation can begin there.
